12 While he was in one of the cities, there came a man full of leprosy. And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.”13 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him.14 And he charged him to tell no one, but “go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, for a proof to them.”15 But now even more the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities.16 But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.

40 May ketonging lumapit kay Jesus na namamanhik at naninikluhod, at sinabi sa kaniya, “Kung nais mo, malilinis mo ako!”41 Nahabag si Jesus, iniabot ang kaniyang kamay at hinawakan ang ketongin na sinasabi, “Ibig ko, maging malinis ka.”42 Pagkasabi nito sa kaniya ni Jesus, nawala kaagad ang ketong at luminis siya.43 Kaya mahigpit siyang binilinan ni Jesus at pinaalis kaagad44 na sinasabi sa kaniya, “Ingatan mong huwag sasabihin kaninuman ang nangyaring ito, sa halip ay humayo ka mismo at magpakita ka sa saserdote. Magdala ka ng handog para sa iyong pagkalinis ayon sa iniutos ni Moises bilang patotoo sa kanila.”45 Ngunit nang siya ay lumabas, sinimulan niyang ipinamalita at ipinangalat sa marami ang nangyari. Dahil dito, hindi na hayagang makapasok sa lungsod si Jesus. Nanatili na lamang siya sa labas na mga liblib na pook, kaya pinuntahan siya ng mga taong nagmula sa iba't ibang dako.
